Black History Month is celebrated nationally each year in February. It is a time to highlight the contributions and achievements of African American individuals, as well as their struggles for freedom and equality in the United States.
The Redford Township District Library invites the community to celebrate Black History Month this February with a variety of engaging programs and events.
Highlights include:
- Engaging storytimes for all ages.
- Curated online book lists featuring diverse authors and stories.
- A delicious food truck experience with WAKA Food Truck on February 20th from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
- A captivating performance by the Motor City Street Dance Academy, followed by a fun and interactive breakdance workshop on Saturday, February 22nd at 2:00 PM.
